Waves of Inclusion: Promoting the Inclusion of Young People with Disabilities by Leveraging Modern Digital Communication Platforms
March 2025 – December 2025

About the Project
The Waves of Inclusion Project aimed to enhance the social integration of young people with disabilities through digital storytelling and content creation. The main objectives included fostering skills in podcasting and digital media, encouraging collaboration among participants, and raising awareness of inclusion issues. By creating a supportive community, the project empowered participants to share their experiences and advocate for their rights, ultimately promoting a more inclusive society where diverse voices are heard and valued.
The project implemented a series of activities, including workshops on digital content creation, monthly podcast recordings, and a final presentation event in Vienna. A total of 20 participants, comprising young people with mixed abilities (ages 18-30) from Austria and Serbia, were involved. This group included individuals with disabilities and their personal assistants, as well as their able-bodied peers, fostering collaboration and peer learning. Through these activities, participants enhanced their skills in digital media and storytelling while promoting awareness of inclusion.
The project fosters greater inclusion of young people with disabilities by enhancing their digital skills and confidence through hands-on activities. The results include a podcast series and digital content highlighting their stories and experiences. This raises awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, promoting a more inclusive society. Additionally, the establishment of ongoing digital content workshops ensured sustained engagement and development of competencies among participants beyond the project’s lifespan.
